Why a link beats an attachment for proposals
A proposal sent as a file lands in a thread and disappears. You cannot correct a typo in a number, you cannot withdraw it after the deadline, and you cannot tell whether it was opened before the meeting where you pretend not to wonder. A link solves all three. It stays current, it can be closed, and it reports back — which is the difference between following up on a schedule and following up at the right moment.
Controlling who sees the numbers
Three levels, chosen per publication. Unlisted means the link works but nothing indexes or lists it. Password means the recipient needs a key you set, stored hashed rather than in plain text. Expiration means the viewer stops serving the document on a date you pick — useful when your pricing is only valid for thirty days and you would rather that be enforced than promised.
Reading the signal before the follow-up
Retention and exits show you the page where attention ended. A prospect who read the scope and stopped before the investment page needs a different conversation than one who reached the last page and clicked the CTA twice. Add a call-to-action hotspot on the closing page — accept, book a call, ask a question — and the click becomes a timestamp you can act on the same day.
The outcome
Know whether the pricing page was read before the follow-up call.
Frequently asked questions
Can I protect a proposal?
Yes. Set a password, expiration date or unlisted visibility.
Can prospects contact me?
Yes. Add a CTA hotspot or an optional lead form.
Can I see where they stopped?
Yes. Page exits and retention show where attention fell away.
Is the password stored safely?
Yes. It is hashed before storage, so nobody reads it back — including us.
Can I revoke access after sending?
Yes. Unpublish the document or let a configured expiration date close it for you.
Do I need a paid plan for privacy?
Passwords and privacy controls are part of the Studio plan and above.
