INTERACTIVE LINKS

Turn every page into a next step

Place clear, measurable links over products, booking buttons, sources or contact actions without editing the original PDF.

  • Positioned page hotspots
  • Custom labels and URLs
  • Click analytics by CTA

Hotspots are placed, not embedded

The links live in the publication, not inside the file. You draw a region over a page in the browser, give it a label and a destination, and it becomes a clickable area in the reader. Because nothing is written back into the PDF, you never have to return to InDesign to fix a URL, and a link you got wrong is a thirty-second correction rather than a re-export, a re-upload and a new link to redistribute.

Labels that say what happens next

A hotspot with no label is a gamble the reader has to take. "View product", "Book a call", "Read the study", "Request a quote" — the label sets the expectation, and the expectation is what earns the click. Keep one primary action per page and let it be the obvious one; a page carrying six competing links usually reports fewer clicks in total than a page carrying one.

Finding out which link did the work

Every hotspot counts its own clicks, so a call to action is measured individually rather than folded into a page total. That is how you learn that the link on the closing page outperforms the one on the cover, or that the "request a quote" line beats "view catalog" by a distance. Change the label, republish, and compare — the publication becomes something you can iterate on instead of something you send once.

The outcome

Readers act while their interest is still fresh.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to edit the PDF?

No. Links are positioned over the converted pages in the web editor.

Are clicks measured?

Yes. Each hotspot has its own click count.

Can I remove a link later?

Yes. Edit or remove interactions without uploading the PDF again.

How many links can one page hold?

As many as the layout can carry legibly. One clear primary action per page usually outperforms several competing ones.

Do links survive replacing the PDF?

Hotspots are anchored to page positions, so check their placement after replacing a file with a different layout.

Are hotspots part of the free plan?

Links and hotspots are included from the Studio plan onward.
