PRIVATE SHARING

Share the publication, not the whole internet

Protect proposals, internal reports and previews with a password, an expiration date or an unlisted link.

  • Password access
  • Unlisted visibility
  • Automatic expiration

Three levels of visibility

Public means the publication can be found and indexed like any page. Unlisted means the link works for anyone holding it but nothing lists or indexes it — the right setting for a client preview or an internal report. Private adds a password on top, so possession of the link is not enough. The setting belongs to the publication, not the account, so a public catalog and an embargoed proposal can live side by side.

Expiration for time-boxed documents

Pricing that is valid for thirty days, an embargo that lifts on a date, a report that should not outlive the quarter: set an expiration and the viewer stops serving the publication when it passes. It is the difference between a policy you have to remember and one the system enforces. Nothing is deleted — you can extend the date or republish when the document becomes relevant again.

What protection does and does not mean

Passwords are hashed before storage, so nobody reads them back, us included. What this protects against is a link forwarded to the wrong inbox, an old proposal resurfacing, or a preview being indexed before launch. What it cannot prevent is a legitimate reader taking a screenshot or sharing their password — no viewer on the web can. Treat it as controlled distribution rather than encryption.

The outcome

The right document reaches the right audience for the right amount of time.

Frequently asked questions

Is the password stored as plain text?

No. Passwords are hashed before storage.

What happens after expiration?

The viewer stops serving the publication.

Is unlisted the same as private?

Unlisted works by secret link; private access additionally requires a password.

Will an unlisted publication show up in Google?

It is not listed or submitted for indexing, which is why it suits previews and internal documents.

Can I change the password after sharing?

Yes. Setting a new one immediately invalidates the previous key.

Which plan includes this?
