Page turns that stay out of the way

An editorial layout has a rhythm — an opening spread, a breath, a long read, a closing note — and a reader should feel it without noticing the mechanism. Pages advance with a swipe or an arrow key, load ahead of where the reader is, and hold their proportions on a laptop and a phone alike. The animation is deliberately quiet: it marks the turn and then gets out of the way of the typography.

Covers, issues and an archive

Choose which page becomes the cover, reorder pages before publishing, and give each issue its own link. Because publications are independent, last quarter's issue stays live at the address you already circulated while the new one goes out — an archive rather than a folder of replaced attachments. On Studio you can keep fifty issues active at once; on Business, two hundred and fifty.

Reading on a phone, honestly

Most readers will open your magazine on a screen narrower than one of your columns. The reader handles that with pinch-to-zoom on a page and a full-width single-page view, but the layout decisions are still yours: generous type, real margins and single pages rather than spreads travel far better than a design that assumes a desktop. Retention by page will tell you within a week whether the phone readers made it past the editor's letter.

The outcome

Your editorial design, delivered without the weight of an attachment.

Frequently asked questions

Is the layout preserved?

Yes. Each PDF page is rendered faithfully in the reader.

Can I choose the cover?

Yes. Reorder pages and choose the page used as the cover.

Can I measure reading?

Yes. See views, reading time, retention and exits by page.

How long can an issue be?

Up to 100 pages on Free, 500 on Studio and 1,000 on Business.

Should I export spreads or single pages?

Single pages read better on phones. Export spreads only when the double-page view is part of the design.

Can I keep back issues online?

Yes. Each issue is its own publication with its own permanent link, so an archive builds itself.
